TERRORIST ACTIVITIES IN RECENT PAST

A few Terrorist activities that took place in recent past are discussed below. A September 11,2001 Attacks. The September 11, 2001 attacks, often referred to as 9/11 were a series of coordinated terrorist attacks upon the USA. Four hijacked ).Erica passenger Jet airlines were used. The attackers crashed two planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane crashed into pentagon in Arlington county, Virginia. The fourth one missed the target and crashed into a field in rural Somerset county Pennsylvania. Approximately 3000 people died in the attacks. The United States governments determined that al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden bear responsibility for the attack. . b. 2002 Bali Bombing. The 2002 Bali bombing occurred on October 12, 2002 in the town of kuta on the Indonesian Island of Bali. 202 people killed and 209 were injured, Jemaah Islamiah organization often accused of being behind the attacks. C. 11 March 2004, Madrid Train Bombing . The 11 March, 2004 Madrid train bombing were a series of coordinated bombings against the commuter train system of Madrid, Spain. The attack killed 192 people and wounded 2050. On 13 march when a number of Moroccans were arrested for the attacks, it was confirmed that the attacks came from an Islamic group. d. 7 July 2005, Landon Bombing. The 7 July 2005, Landon bombing were a series of co-coordinated suicide bombings that struck London’s public transport system during the morning rush hour . Three bombs were exploded on the three London underground trains. A fourth bomb exploded on a bus in Tavistock Square, 56 people were killed and about 700 people injured in the attacks. AI- Qaeda did claim responsibility after the bombing.
